Fake loan offers arrive by WhatsApp, SMS, calls and ads. They look convincing because they borrow real brand names. The behaviour gives them away.
The seven signs
- Any payment before disbursal. “Processing fee”, “insurance”, “GST”, “RBI clearance”: genuine lenders deduct fees from the loan amount or bill them in the agreement. Nobody collects money in advance.
- Guaranteed approval with no credit check.
- Asking for your OTP, PIN, CVV or password. No lender, and not us, ever needs these.
- Pressure to decide in minutes.
- Personal UPI IDs or odd account names for payments.
- An app not on the Play Store or App Store, or one asking for contacts and photo access.
- No written loan agreement or Key Fact Statement.
If you have been targeted
Stop all contact, do not pay, and report at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930. If someone used the CreditJunction4U name, write to grievance@creditjunction4u.com.
How a genuine process looks
Mobile verification, a soft eligibility check, then KYC and an e-signed agreement directly with the lender. Money arrives in your bank account; nothing leaves it first.
